Paris-based artist, designer, creative director, and co-founder of Novembre magazine, Florence Tétier launched her eponymous Tétier Bijoux jewelry label in 2018. Since then, her bold and irreverent up-cycled bijouterie has garnered accolades throughout the fashion world. Staying true to her mantra ‘Nothing dies, everything is transformed,’ she uses interventional repurposing of discarded plastics, toys and found objects to create extraordinary floral and crustacean-like sculptural forms. Melding technicolor, neon and transparents with up-cycled textiles, she finds connection between materials to create organic, almost living jewelry.
With a flair for color combinations and hybrid forms, the unique pieces in this Tétier Bijoux collection include sculptural rainbow spectrum bangles, exotic floral and sea urchin-like ear cuffs, eye-catching rings, resembling fantastical encrusted creatures and ornamental hair pins redolent of sea anemones and jellyfish, all of which have a joyously colorful 70s decadence. Through a process of serendipitous assemblage, she creates pieces that are simultaneously both jewelry and art, with each of the one-off creations making for a bold and audacious statement.
