"A ford sprang forth in early spring
Fertile excess in everything
Appetite whet for decadence
Bold pink and yellow irreverence."
From the Spring Summer 1999 collection, these cotton pants have a colorful print called abstract flower and are fitted at the waist with a cropped leg. There is an embroidered label with 'Gucci' on the interior. This dress was selected by the Creative Director and Vault archivists for its particularity, character and exceptional vintage condition, and it was reconditioned to the highest standard by in-house artisans. It has been given the number 108 | 21 and will arrive in tailor-made packaging. This rare and beautiful piece should be handled with exceptional care.
Created under the Creative Direction of Tom Ford for his Spring Summer 1999 collection, this pant has a colorful floral pattern against a pink background.
This collection represented a change in Tom Ford's Gucci, one in which he described as “Las Vegas hippie,” and was, at the time, a step outside the stark minimalist silhouettes of collections past. The bright, colorful flowers in exaggerated prints were a "happy" juxtaposition to what came before.
As soon as you hold a piece of the Vault, you begin to write a new chapter of its story—instituting a relationship, rather than an ownership, that will forever connect one owner to the next. As the years accumulate, every mark or crease is collected onto the surface, continuously altering the item’s appearance and making it completely unique. Imperfections should be expected and treasured as the journey continues for this piece.
