Originally released in the late '80s with the code 1080, this vintage handbag has been hand-picked by Gucci's archivists. The front flap is decorated with a gold-toned interlocking G closure. On the inside on the rear dial is Gucci Crest with Made in Italy engraved into a gold-toned metal plate. Orange, pink, and yellow waves have been hand-painted onto the original design, reviving it into a one-of-a-kind item. This handbag was selected by the Creative Director and Vault archivists for its particularity, character and exceptional vintage condition, and it was reconditioned to the highest standard by in-house artisans. It has been given the number 115 | 21 and will arrive in tailor-made packaging. This rare and beautiful piece should be handled with exceptional care.
Smooth brown leather wraps and folds around the shape of the bag in a way that almost looks seamless. The closure is in the outline of the G with the interlocking feature turning to lock as the ending of the letter—a forever nod to Guccio Gucci.
Once this handbag was brought into the Vault, it was hand-painted with orange, pink and yellow waves, cementing its one-of-a-kind status.
As soon as you hold a piece of the Vault, you begin to write a new chapter of its story—instituting a relationship, rather than ownership, that will forever connect one owner to the next. As the years accumulate, every mark or crease is collected onto the surface, continuously altering the item’s appearance and making it unique. Imperfections should be expected and treasured as the journey continues for this piece.
