Martine Rose

Living and working in London, British-Jamaican designer Martine Rose launched her eponymous label in 2007. Seamlessly blending fine tailoring with streetwear, she has won critical acclaim and a British Fashion Council Menswear of the Year nomination, whilst still retaining a devoted following. Having refined her approach to proportion and silhouette as a consultant to a top fashion house, she channels the late 80’s and early 90’s of her south London upbringing, merging soccer and sport subcultures with a rave and reggae aesthetic to create a new and subversive set of sartorial codes.

The collections

Distorting the subcultural visual language and masculine tropes of her youth, Martine Rose’s men’s collection has an allure and authenticity that nods to football terraces, motorsports and dancehalls. Box suit jackets, twisted football tees, logoed hoodies, printed and accessorized jeans, check twill and phone print shirts and 2-piece paneled race suits blend surprising textiles, subtle detailing and oversized silhouettes to make for a nuanced and layered composite of styles and forms.
