Established in 1838, when Mr. Joseph-Christophe Charvet opened the world’s first shirt shop in Paris, Charvet soon became renowned for its impeccably made shirting and ties. Each tie from this capsule is tailored from the highest quality fabrics then carefully checked, cut out and assembled by hand. This print was selected from the Charvet archive and crafted exclusively for Vault.
Looking to its historic archive of original designs for this capsule collection, Charvet was inspired by a breath-taking treasure trove of ties, amassed in the '20s and ’30s by a flamboyant American entrepreneur and art collector. Found 50 years after his death, hidden in an ornate ormolu dresser in one of the derelict bedrooms of Ca’ d’Zan, his abandoned Florida mansion, the vivid designs perfectly capture the spirit and vibrancy of the jazz age.
