Souleiado

A poetic Provençal term meaning, “when the sun shines through clouds after the rain,’ Souleiado has come to epitomize the south of France by progressing an expertise that has captivated the world for centuries. Founded by Charles Deméry in 1939 as a cotton textile factory specializing in a block-printing technique, Souleiado initially created only the vibrantly patterned fabrics that Provence had become known for. After 1947, when Deméry’s wife Hélène created a line of ready-to-wear, the company expanded its scope. Today, Souleiado focuses on reimagining its archive of drawings, printing blocks, and fabrics to be the sole preserver of a 360-year-old craft technique.

The collections

With particular emphasis on the colorful prints and fluid silhouettes of the late 1970s, this exclusive capsule pays homage to Souleiado’s historic archive. Conjuring Summers in the south of France, it includes dresses, skirts, and tote bags featuring vivid patterns.
