Originally released in the mid 1970s, this gold-toned metal chain belt has torchon rings alternating with blue enamel guillochè plaques with white enamel GG detail. 'Gucci Made in Italy' is engraved into the metal. This belt was selected by the Creative Director and Vault archivists for its particularity, character and exceptional vintage condition, and it was reconditioned to the highest standard by in-house artisans. It has been given the number 60 | 21 and will arrive in tailor-made packaging. This rare and beautiful piece should be handled with exceptional care.
Torchon rings link around guillochè plaques where glitzes of gold alternate with deep blue enamel. The GG, first used on Guccio Gucci's letterhead in 1924, sits at the center in stark white.
The ornate design is telling of the time in which it was created when jewelry-style pieces extended past the neck and wrists. The chain belt wraps around the hips, maybe it was worn slipped over a dress or a pair of jeans.
As soon as you hold a piece of the Vault, you begin to write a new chapter of its story—instituting a relationship, rather than ownership, that will forever connect one owner to the next. As the years accumulate, every mark or crease is collected onto the surface, continuously altering the item’s appearance and making it unique. Imperfections should be expected and treasured as the journey continues for this piece.
