This pocket square was first produced in the 1980s and is made in cotton, highlighted by the mignon GG motif set against a white background. The accessory is trimmed with a contrasting torchon design. This pocket square was selected by the Creative Director and Vault archivists for its particularity, character and exceptional vintage condition, and it was reconditioned to the highest standard by in-house artisans. It has been given the number 97 | 21 and will arrive in tailor-made packaging. This rare and beautiful piece should be handled with exceptional care.
White cotton, decorated with an allover mignon GG motif, extends around the surface of this pocket square until it's intercepted by contrasting torchon trims. The GG, a forever nod to Guccio Gucci, is an emblem of the House that has carried the brand's message for 100 years.
In 1979, the request was made to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to obtain the patent for the "design for fabrics and objects of use in general with an ornamental effect deriving from a motif consisting of two small inverted and opposite G, arranged staggered along horizontal lines; each pair of G being separated by a dot from the pairs aligned to it according to a diagonal line".
As soon as you hold a piece of the Vault, you begin to write a new chapter of its story—instituting a relationship, rather than an ownership, that will forever connect one owner to the next. As the years accumulate, every mark or crease is collected onto the surface, continuously altering the item’s appearance and making it completely unique. Imperfections should be expected and treasured as the journey continues for this piece.
